Denham Springs Elementary School

The Livingston Parish School System was devastated by the Louisiana floods of 2016. Specifically, the Denham Springs Elementary campus suffered a total loss. Ziler Architects was selected to design the new campus, raising it above the Base Flood elevation, and complements the vernacular of the historic downtown district adjacent to the site.

Due to the Site constraints of being in a Flood Zone, and no adjacent property available for expansion, the new Finish floor sits over 4 feet above the previous finish floor. The design incorporates a 2 story main Classroom building to accommodate the building program needs, and maximizes the available outdoor space for exterior Student activities.
