Madison Hall - University of Louisiana at Lafayette
|
Madison Hall was constructed in 1957 for the Engineering Department at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. in 1998, Ziler Architects was commissioned to design and implement the new window replacement and facade improvements. The original curtainwall had deteriorated to a point where the system was failing and detaching from the structure. The original system had virtually no insulating qualities, air or moisture barrier. The new envelope provides a combined R-value of 21 with high reflective glass to significantly reduce the building heat gain and outside air infiltration. The energy consumption has been greatly reduced while providing a more controlled and manageable interior environment. The project design and construction was completed on time and within the owners' established budget. |
